The story behind Vivienne Sabo

The young students of Parisian Sorbonne University, Vivienne and Louis were in love and happy. With their passion for chemistry, they were both looking for an opportunity to exploit their talents. Vivienne, an overwhelming beautiful woman, loved make-up and used her acquired knowledge and intuition to make her own make-up. Louis helped her and she worked together in her small home laboratory to develop new formulas for mascaras, lipsticks and eyeliners. They made remarkable progress and dreamed of owning their own laboratory…

Vivienne always inspired Louis. The story of Josephine’s violet Vivienne told him touched his heart. It describes an event that has made violet an eternal symbol of love. Josephine’s favourite flowers, the violets, always brought her happiness. A bouquet of violets was the hurricane of their liberation from prison. Dressed in a dress decorated with violet, she won the heart of the young general, who later became the Great Emperor and her husband. Each year, on March 9, the day of her wedding, Napoleon gave his Josephine a delicate bouquet of violets. Inspired by this great French and driven by his indescribable love for Vivienne, Louis gave her a bouquet of violets every morning…

Since that day, these violets have been the most important thing in Vivienne’s life. Every morning she looked at the violets with a trembling heart, with the hope that her loved one is still alive…

One day she awakened and saw that the flower was withered: the petals were lifeless on the windowsill. Soon she got the message that Louis has died. This is where Vivienne’s diary ends and its track is lost in post-war Europe.

This touching story of a young French woman served as inspiration for the creation of the make-up brand Vivienne Sabó. Vivienne’s dream came true. In the end, the love that lived in them was real. A true love is always reborn, just like the violets that bloom every spring in Paris.
